Hey loves!
I hope you're having the best week. :) When Johnny and I first got engaged, I posted a full blog article chatting about how I care for my gemstone engagement ring. I have a game changing update and I thought it would be easier to share it in a new post so that you can refer back to it as needed.
My ring is mostly white sapphire, and this gemstone has a tendency to appear a little cloudy. After plenty of trial and error, I finally found a cleaning routine that keeps my Heidi Gibson shiny. The key? Ammonia! Here's what I do:
Microwave 1/2 cup of distilled water for 3o seconds.
Mix 6 tablespoons water with 1 tablespoon ammonia.
Place your ring in the cup and let soak for 10-20 minutes depending on how dirty it is.
Scrub with a SOFT BRISTLE toothbrush. It has to be soft, because otherwise it can scratch your stone and that is not the vibe we want!
Rinse with distilled water and pat dry with a microfiber cloth.
PRO TIP: Make sure you are using distilled water, not tap, because it prevents water spots.
I shared a REEL on IG today showing you step by step how I do this, and linked it here for you :) and I linked my press on nails here for you too.
I hope these tips help you!!
