Hi loves! If you follow me on Instagram, then you know that Johnny and I just celebrated our 6 year dating anniversary. WOOHOO! We love to plan a staycation to celebrate, so we packed our bags and headed to our happy place: La Serena Villas! This oasis is nestled in the beautiful San Jacinto Mountains, and is steps from the heart of Downtown Palm Springs. Upon arrival, the kindest staff provided us with hand sanitizer and enforced that everyone wear a mask and stay 6 feet apart. We always felt very safe and taken care of. Most of La Serena is currently open for business as usual, except Whispers Spa treatments are unavailable and indoor dining at their poolside restaurant, Azucar, was inaccessible. These small changes did not hinder our stay at all. We had the absolute best time and I am so excited to tell you about it!
Walking up to Villa 3, the first thing I noticed was our private entry with a walkway straight to our own personal courtyard with a beautiful fire pit & vintage claw foot bathtub. I mentally noted that we would spend most of our time there, and rushed to open the door to our home for the next three days. This beautiful fountain bungalow is a spacious 300 square feet with a cozy king size bed and a 40" flat screen TV. (Johnny and I always travel with our Apple TV, so we loved this feature for watching movies before bed). From the oversized shower complete with a seat + a rain shower head (and the most beautiful tile!), to the luxurious Frette linens and immaculate furniture, every square inch of this place was beautiful. With L’Occitane skin and bath products & plush robes, it's impossible not to feel spoiled here. It was hard to leave our villa, but escaping to the pool is always a must. With 116 degree temperatures, floating in the pool with a signature cocktail from the Azucar restaurant is a no-brainer. This little slice of heaven always puts me in total relaxation mode. After our time at the pool, we came back to our private patio to enjoy champagne in our outdoor bath tub. These are some of my fondest memories.
The staff at La Serena Villas always makes us feel so at home. Each morning, they kindly dropped off our breakfast basket. I mean seriously, how adorable is that! Inside the basket we found berries, muffins, granola + yogurt parfaits, and fresh juice. So YUMMY! We got to enjoy this awesome breakfast spread from the comfort of our bed, socially distanced from other guests.
For dinner, we headed over to their poolside restaurant, Azucar. They thoughtfully spaced the tables apart, and the staff wore masks at all times. We ordered drinks with their chicken lettuce wraps + chips and guac while we enjoyed gazing up at the stars underneath the misters. It was completely magical.
We had such a lovely time with our La Serena Villas family, and are thrilled to share more about our staycation in photos :)
